A Letter from BRHS Principal Tricia Campbell

Greetings BRHS Families,

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020 The Boothbay Region Consolidated School District School Committee voted to adopt the plan for 2020-2021 reopening schools. This plan was designed with the ideals of safety, equity, flexibility, and excellence of instruction at its core while maintaining the Maine Department of Education’s (MDOE) expectation that local systems develop a plan for the three possible scenarios of Red, Yellow and Green, which is outlined in the attached and updated Setting Sail.  TheFrequently Asked Questions document outlines specific questions we have received that we hope you also find useful. FAQ.

At this time, Lincoln County Schools remain able to open in the green.

We need your help: We are asking you to complete the BRHS 2nd Semester Parent Commitment Form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScFXqtYXxMj-36Ee02d6x_hZoBmz8KNNJjv64wrcMe7bPVF8g/viewform?usp=pp_url

All parents/guardians are asked to complete the online form by Wed., December 9th. If you have difficulty accessing the form please call the BRHS main office (207 633 2421) and they will assist you. The commitment you are being asked to make is which option (In-Person, Virtual Academy, or unenrolling and homeschooling your child) you are selecting for your child(ren) starting January 22, 2021.  We are asking you to commit to your decision for the second semester at BRHS (through June 2021).  If you have questions about your student’s schedule or courses, please contact BRHS Guidance Counselor, Leanne Burnham lburnham@aos98schools.org.

BRHS 2nd semester cohort assignments will be finalized and shared with students by January 8th.

I have heard from many parents and community members and have been overwhelmed by the support and understanding the school has received. This is such a challenging time for everyone and our community continues to support our schools. We are incredibly grateful!

Staff and students at BRHS will continue to work hard to have a successful conclusion to the first semester. We look ahead filled with hope!

I thank you for your continued support,
Tricia Campbell, Principal BRHS
